In 1996, RCF advanced to the forefront of active speaker technology with the introduction of the ART series: a speaker series with perfect and powerful sound and a lightweight cabinet strong enough to withstand daily use. RCF's research and development team continuously developed ART technology in the following decade and produced reference products such as the ART 322-A, ART 310-A and the new ART 725-A with digital amplifiers. For the RCF team, the user's needs are always the most important criterion in the development of new speaker series with innovative features, improved sonic clarity and resolution, and even lower weight.

The latest development is the ART 3 MK4 series: an evolutionary step in active speaker technology that is revolutionary in sound and design. Every detail of the ART 3 MK4 series is carefully thought out to give musicians and sounders the perfect tool to enhance their performance, night after night. High material quality, precise manufacturing processes, careful assembly and extensive quality controls complete the pioneering design achievements of RCF's research and development department.

All loudspeakers in the ART 3 MK4 series have ferrite magnets. The compression drivers and speakers are precision products whose extremely high quality level results from superior casting and assembly technology as well as a wealth of experience and knowledge.

All two-way loudspeaker systems of the ART 3 MK4 series feature the latest generation of digital power amplifiers with 400 W, 300 W for the woofer and 100 W for the compression driver. Very high sound pressure, extremely low distortion and incredibly natural sound are the result. Each ART 3 MK4 Series amplifier has a balanced input with an XLR and a jack socket, an XLR output socket for loop-through, an input switch "MIC/LINE", a volume control and a switchable equalizer mode ("FLAT/BOOST"). The mechanical basis of the output stage is a robust aluminium profile, which not only stabilises the amplifier unit during transport, but also serves for cooling. All amplifier units of the ART 3 MK4 series are equipped with switched-mode power supply units (SMPS), which deliver maximum output power with minimum transport weight.

The modern and ergonomic design of the ART 3 MK4 series is the result of extensive combined research in both functional and acoustic areas.

The enclosures of the two-way loudspeakers of the ART 3 MK4 series are cast from a special polypropylene composite material and designed to dampen cabinet vibrations even at maximum levels. The bass reflex port has been recalculated to achieve even better efficiency. For more comfortable carrying the model ART 310-A MK II has a handle on the top. All models have a sturdy steel flange socket on the underside for a speaker stand or a distance rod (for mounting on a subwoofer). Thanks to the new housing shape, every model of the ART 3 MK4 series can not only be operated upright, but also as a stage monitor. An M10 threaded bushing is provided to accommodate optional mounting components (U-bracket) for fixed installations.
