P90 pickups are considered by many guitarists to be the best sounding pickups ever. More powerful and with more attitude than a conventional single coil but clearer and less compressive than a humbucker, these PUs have always enjoyed a certain popularity since their development, but have always had the image of an insider's tip. This was partly due to the fact that P90 pickups only fitted into specially milled PU recesses that were larger than those for conventional single coils, but smaller than humbuckers. With the Phat Cats, the P90 tone is finally available in normal humbucker format, so that one of these unique pickups can now be installed in almost any guitar. Ideal for country, jazz, blues, rockabilly, classic rock and heavy rock.
