SHOWTEC Pangolin LD2000 Intro Product Details
One of the most popular Lasershow-programs on the market!
Professional Designers prefer the LD2000 system to create amazing Lasershows for their audience. There are three levels of this Laserprogram: Intro, Basic and Professional. The difference between these three versions is the number of tracks and the 3D function. It's possible to convert Video-to-Laser in real time now.
31200 LD2000 Intro. Perfect for simple shows and playback-only applications, 3 Tracks.
Lasershow Designer 2000 is the state-of-the-art system for laser show production and presentation. LD2000 takes the best qualities of Pangolin's multi-award-winning Lasershow Designer series, and adds more speed and more features. As just one example, you can create raster frames and movies, like the one shown at right. You can make raster frames with built-in LD2000 functions, or by using the free Lasershow Video realtime video system. As another example, our optional add-on programs, Lasershow Converter MAX and Lasershow Converter FLASH instantly turn standard computer graphics into finished laser shows.
Ten times more processing power
The LD2000 system is powered by the all-new QM2000 board. It is this board which makes available the new hardware and software capabilities. (In fact, you must have the board installed, in order to operate the software. LD2000's advanced features depend on the QM2000's power.)

Feature:
- This half-sized board fits in the PCI slot available on almost any modern computer or notebook docking station. It's easier to find computers with PCI-bus slots, and the PCI bus has faster data transfer
- The QM2000 has about ten times the processing power of the older QM32. This lets the board run faster and allows Pangolin to add new software features.
- You can get point output rates up to 130,000 pts/sec. Such fast rates are necessary for photorealistic TV-like raster frames.
- Frames can be up to 6,000 points in length. This is ideal for faster 50K+ scanners, that can show more points without flicker.
- Software geometric correction is built-in, so you can get perfectly square images on the laser screen, even if you are projecting off-center (or even if the "screen" is round like a planetarium dome).
- Pangolin provides you with the LD2000 CD-ROM disc, a QM2000 board, a cable adapter and a 50-page LD2000 Installation Manual. You must provide a laser projector, and a Windows-compatible computer with at least one PCI slot. There are two other tasks you should do before your system arrives:
- Make a cable to go from the QM2000 outputs to your projector inputs. Buy or borrow audio CDs, so you can run some of the dozens of shows which already come with LD2000.
- You can run LD2000 on just about any laser projector. However, the recommended system uses high-speed scanners that can display the ILDA test pattern at 30,000 points per second or more.
- The minimum computer requirement is any PC (IBM-compatible) with at least one PCI slot, and which can run Windows 95/98 or Windows 2000). Because LD2000 comes with its own computer, the QM2000 board, your Lasershow Designer 2000 system will run at the same speed no matter how fast or slow your computer runs. However, for creating shows we highly recommend a fast computer with multimedia (CD-ROM or DVD-ROM, sound card), and extra memory. This is because Windows itself can be slow; the extra speed will make windows and graphics draw much faster. LD2000's minimum video requirements are SVGA (800 x 600) with at least 16-bit "high" color (32,000 colors). Be sure to select your video driver's "Small fonts" option. Using large fonts changes the text spacing in LD's windows.
- The current version of LD2000 takes up roughly 80,000,000 bytes (80 megabytes). Because each file requires additional hard drive overhead space, systems using Windows 95/98 may actually require 100 MB or more to store this data. As you use LD2000, you'll need additional space to accommodate your work. Very roughly, you can assume about 2 Mb for every five minutes of show time.
