Description

SOMA Laboratory Pulsar-23 Zanzibar Product Details

PULSAR-23 is a multifunctional analog synthesizer and generator of complex rhythmic structures.

PULSAR consists of 23 different modules, including four flexible sound generators with completely different structures, four envelope generators, four looper/recorders, a clock generator with dividers, a controlled chaos generator, an LFO, a two-channel voltage controlled effects processor, distortion, two voltage controlled amplifiers, an inverter, a voltage controlled inverter and two voltage controlled analog switches. In addition to these 23 main units, PULSAR also contains 13 auxiliary units, such as a four-channel MIDI-to-CV converter (transducer), a noise generator, four attenuators (attenuators), two dynamic control voltage generators with sensor control, two pulse converters, and individual passive electronic components for live circuit bending.

PULSAR-23 can be used for synthesis of percussive instruments and rhythms, for bass and melody lines, for effects and soundscapes, and as a source for control voltages. The PULSAR operates in three different modes: standalone, MIDI-controlled, or voltage-controlled. Furthermore, all of these features and control options can also be used together in any combination. Additionally, PULSAR offers the possibility to create patches, cross modulations and live circuit bending using the body's own conductivity.
