Description

Tascam DA-3000SD Product Details

The best thing that can happen to your precious recordings.

The Tascam DA-3000SD is a combination of a first-class master recorder and an AD converter for musically precise recordings with high sampling rates. Equipped with the highest quality components, Tascam's DA-3000SD continues to set the industry standard for mastering, A/D and D/A conversion in the professional environment.

Professional stereo master recorder with outstanding converters

Like its proven predecessors, the DA-3000SD combines professional mastering and monitoring in a compact rack-mountable housing.

As a master recorder, it offers a level of quality that cannot be achieved with a DAW alone. When used as an A/D and D/A converter in a DAW production environment, it improves the clarity and depth of the audio material and ensures an incomparable, noise-free monitoring experience.

Masterful sound thanks to PCM or DSD recording

When recording, the DA-3000SD can capture audio in either 192 kHz PCM format or 2.8 MHz or 5.6 MHz DSD format, offering the highest resolution recording format available on the market. Depending on your project requirements, you can choose which recording method best suits the characteristics of the music and save the settings.

Synchronize multiple devices for sample-accurate recording and playback, creating a DSD multitrack recording environment. Recording directly to SD cards makes sessions easy and convenient to handle and transport.

Sophisticated circuitry, high quality converters

To achieve an exceptional sound profile, an EI core transformer with separate windings for the digital and analog circuits is used for the power supply. The audio output is dual mono and contains two separate high-quality output stages.

In addition, all stages of the audio path are balanced to minimize noise in both the input and output sections. The DA-3000SD's clock generator, equipped with a TCXO (Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillator), has an accuracy of ±1 ppm, enabling digital audio processing without jitter.

Numerous input and output connections

The DA-3000SD has a variety of inputs and outputs to connect it to a wide range of studio equipment, such as audio interfaces, microphone preamps, dynamics processors and others.

Analog inputs and outputs are available via XLR and RCA connectors, while PCM digital connections can be made via SPDIF, RCA (coaxial) and AES/EBU connectors. BNC sockets are available for exchange in DSD format (SDIF-3).

Use as a portable, high-resolution D/A converter

The DA-3000SD takes up only one height unit in a rack and can be easily transported between different locations to provide reliable and detailed monitoring in any environment. With its ability to generate word clock, it can also serve as a high-precision clock generator or synchronize to an external clock source to deliver musically flawless, 100% phase-coherent audio.

Use as an A/D converter and recorder for mastering

By routing and recording the stereo mix from a DAW to the DA-3000SD, you can capture the sound source at a higher resolution than is possible with an intermediate mix on the DAW. If you're using vintage or other peripherals during mastering, you can place the DA-3000SD behind the external hardware to capture the sonic coloration in all its high-resolution beauty.

Use as a DSD multitrack recorder

By cascading multiple devices, you can synchronize both recording and playback to create a DSD multitrack environment. By linking eight DA-3000SDs together, you can record up to 16 tracks simultaneously.
