Tascam SS-R250N Product Details
The SS-R250N network-ready solid-state recorder and player offers a wide range of control options for professional applications such as broadcast or fixed installation. It records in WAV and MP3 formats to SD/SDHC/SDXC and USB flash drives. Since the recorder is able to connect to an FTP server via a network, it can automatically upload files after recording files automatically after recording or download files for playback. Time synchronization via SNTP is also possible.
Compared to conventional recorders, the SS-R250N offers more security for your valuable files with its two SD card slots. It can create backups on the second memory card during recording or card during recording, or switch to the second card when the first card runs out of capacity. It also automatically closes files if power fails during recording, so the entire recording session is not lost.
Features:
Network/control capability
- Record to and playback from USB flash drives (up to 64GB), SD/SDHC/SDXC cards (up to 128GB)
- Supports recording and playback of high-resolution files up to 96 kHz / 24 bit
- FTP client allows automatic upload of recording files to an FTP server or automatic download of audio files from an FTP server
- Event lists for recording, playback, download and other functions allow time-controlled execution of certain actions
- Highest accuracy of event control thanks to time synchronization via SNTP client
- iOS/Android app allows transport control and remote control of various settings
Recording functions
- Two SD card slots for mirrored and staggered recording
- Markers can be set automatically when an error occurs or the input overrides
- Advance recording (ensures that you never miss the start of a recording)
- Auto track function (automatically divides recordings into tracks)
- Compressor and limiter can help improve recording quality
- Auto level adjustment automatically adjusts input level when needed

Playback functions
- Call function (jump to the point where playback was last started)
- Ducking function decreases the playback level when the input level increases and vice versa
- Incremental play allows you to skip to the next track each time you press the play button
- Auto-Cue (automatically locates the beginning of the audio in the track)
- Auto-Ready (automatic switching to pause mode after finding a track)
- Pitch control (change pitch and speed) and key control (change pitch only)
- Playback individually or in programmed or random sequence
- Repeat function (all tracks, marked section)
- Playback of a mono mix
- Set markers at any position
- EOM signalling (indicates the imminent end of a track)
Other functions
- Sample rate converter for inputs and outputs
- Link playback function (control two devices in parallel from one)
- Automatic file locking prevents data loss in the event of a sudden power failure during recording
- Custom presets: store up to three sets of settings to quickly switch inputs and outputs, change sample rates, or toggle other functions
- Compact chassis for rack mounting (1U only)
