Walrus Audio Juliana Product Details
Building on the dense, analog soundscapes of the JULIA Chorus/Vibrato, the JULIANNA Stereo Chorus/Vibrato Pedal offers advanced features using a new digital tap control - the sound remains 100% analog, of course. JULIANNA delivers sounds ranging from light chorus to dizzying vibrato and everything in between. The controls "Lag", "d-c-v" (dry chorus vibrato), as well as a selector switch for the LFO waveform, successfully introduced by the JULIA, can also be found here, but have been extended by additional functions: thanks to the activatable "Drift" function (continuous fluctuations of the set "Rate" value), Secondary Rate (for temporary ramp-up/-down sounds by foot pressure) and connection option for expression pedal and tap switch, sounds are possible that are not found in any traditional chorus pedal.
Unlike many other chorus pedals, JULIANNA and JULIA have a special control called "Lag". With the Lag control you choose the delay time after which the LFO modulation starts. Moderate settings produce smooth, soft modulations, while the maximum setting produces dizzying detuning effects. The lag control adds a new dimension to traditional chorus and vibrato.
The d-c-v control determines the amount of effect in the JULIANNA's mono channel. Traditional chorus sounds are found in the center position at "12 o'clock", while classic vibrato sounds are found with the knob turned all the way up. The intermediate positions offer unique blends of chorus and vibrato sounds not normally achieved with other chorus pedals. In stereo mode, the second output ("Stereo") is always the pure vibrato effect signal (100% wet), while for the first output ("Mono") you can add the amount of effect via "d-c-v". If the "d-c-v" is completely turned down (left stop), the first output ("Mono") will output the dry signal without effect. This would be the setup of a classic stereo chorus. If you set the d-c-v control higher, the output titled "Mono" will also output a proportionally-mixable effect signal, leading to many new sonic variations.
Features:
- Analog chorus/vibrato with stereo connections.
- Stereo variant of the multiple award-winning JULIA pedal
- New functions: Drift, Secondary Rate, Tap Tempo and Random LFO Shape.
- Equally suitable from subtle to "seasick" (thanks to "lag" and "d-c-v" parameters)
- Controls: Rate, Depth, Lag, d-c-v, Wave Shape, Division, Tap, Bypass
- "Lag" control determines the basic character of the effect (soft modulation to strong "detune")
- LFO waveform switchable: sine, triangle & random
- "d-c-v" determines the mix ratio between dry signal and effect sound (dry-chorus-vibrato)
- All tonal intermediate forms from chorus to vibrato usable
- Tap Tempo function via integrated footswitch or external tap switch
- Tap division: Rhythmic subdivision of the tap tempo into quarters, eighths, or quarter triplets
- "Secondary Rate function for temporary ramp-up or ramp-down sounds
- Activatable "drift" function: modulation of the rate parameter (intensity adjustable)
- Expression pedal input for Depth, Rate or both parameters simultaneously
- Bypass and tap via "soft-switches" for noiseless switching
- "Smart Bypass" activates the effect pedal temporarily as long as the bypass switch is pressed
- Very well suited for bass guitar (thanks to adjustable "dry-wet ratio" via d-c-v control)
- 9V DC, 30mA
