Doepfer MKE Universal Midi Keyboard Electronics 4/5 Oktaven

MKE is a universal Midi keyboard electronics, which is intended for the construction of customized Midi controllers, where a keyboard is also to be used. In combination with the other controller electronics Pocket Electronic, Dial Electronic, CTM64 and MTC64 a Midi controller can be built up, which is exactly adjusted to the wishes of the user.

In addition, dynamic and non-dynamic operation can be selected. In non-dynamic operation, the transmitted (fixed) velocity value is adjustable. MKE has a non-volatile memory. At the next startup the previous values for midi channel, transpose, program number, controller and dynamic/non-dynamic mode are preset.

MKE is equipped with Midi In and Midi Out. Data arriving at the Midi input is added to the data generated by the MKE itself (merge function). Thus several MKE can be cascaded or combined with other OEM controllers (e.g. Pocket Electronic, Dial Electronic, CTM64 , MTC64) to build a custom midi controller.

MKE is only available as a fully assembled and tested board. The board size is approx. L71 x W85 x H45 mm. On the board there are 4 holes with 3 mm diameter for mounting the board on a base or front panel (e.g. with M3 spacer bolts).

For all MKE orders please specify the desired keyboard type (2/3 or 4/5 octaves). This is necessary because each keyboard has a different type of connector and therefore requires different connecting cables. If you do not own a keyboard, we recommend to order the keyboard, the cable set and the MKE together, because then you will get all components coordinated. The connecting cables to the keyboard are not included in MKE and have to be ordered separately if required. A case is not offered, since the MKE is intended for installation in a case together with the keyboard and possibly the other controllers (Pocket Electronic etc., see above).

Power is supplied by an external plug-in power supply (7-12V DC / min. 250mA). This is included in the delivery (230V version with Euro plug).

Basic electronic knowledge is required for the installation and connection of the MKE ready-made module! If you do not have this knowledge yourself, you should consult a specialist.
