EV Electro Voice RE 20

The Electro-Voice RE20 is a large diaphragm dynamic microphone. It has been one of the most popular microphones at US radio stations since its introduction in 1968. The Variable-D design counteracts the proximity effect of a cardioid microphone. To provide even more transparency and clarity, a low-cut switch has been incorporated that reduces the level in the bass range of 100 and 400 Hz by 4.5 dB. attenuates the level by 4.5 dB.

The twice eight slot-shaped openings on the shaft, meanwhile, ensure that the sound waves can unfold to the tuned ports, inside. Therefore, these should never be be covered. Optionally, the vibration-decoupled 309A microphone spider can be purchased.
