The NORD Piano 5 features two piano engines, two sample synths, and twice the memory capacity of the previous generation. Thanks to a high-quality keyboard with triple sensors in combination with an exclusive Virtual Hammer Action Technology, the portable Piano 5 provides an exceptional playing experience.
The NORD Piano Experience
The Nord Piano 5 comes with an impressive sound selection of 9 grand pianos, 9 upright pianos, 10 electric pianos plus clavinet, digital pianos and marimba and vibraphone. Additional pianos can be downloaded for free at www.nordkeyboards.com.
Two independent pianos and sample synths
The Piano and Sample Synth sections in Nord Piano 5 each have two independent layers. Each of the two pianos and sample synths can be used simultaneously in various split or layer configurations. Combined with the versatile effects routing, a wide variety of combinations can be achieved - from classic ensemble settings to intense soundscapes.
Virtual Hammer Action Technology
Our unique Virtual Hammer Action Technology works in conjunction with the physical hammer movements to deliver outstanding authenticity and exceptionally dynamic response. The result is a keyboard response that allows dynamic playing with amazing control at any velocity.
Sample Synth Section
Two all-new independent sample synths with significantly expanded memory for sounds from the Nord Sample Library. The Sample Synth section contains a completely redesigned selection of high-quality sounds from the Nord Sample Library, including exclusively licensed sounds from the legendary Mellotron and Chamberlin instruments, as well as a selection of samples from ProjectSAM's Symphobia and Swing! libraries. All sounds can be quickly exchanged via the Nord Sound Manager. The sample synth section features two fully featured and independent layers with controls for attack, decay/release and a dynamic response. You can also create your own samples using the free Nord Sample Editor software for Mac and Windows. The sample synth section features an all-new Unison function that creatively blends multiple sample voices to create intense, ensemble-like sounds. It also features Tru Vibrato, which accurately recreates the unique vibrato characteristics of numerous woodwind, brass and string instruments.
Effects Section
The effects section offers a wide selection of high-quality, directly controllable stereo effects emulated from classic ground effects. An effect can be assigned to any Layer in the Piano or Sample Synth sections as needed. The effects section of Nord Piano 5 includes Tremolo, Phaser, Chorus, Pan, Wah, RM, Flanger, Vibe, EQ, Delay and Reverb. The Reverb effect is available in five different sizes (Booth, Room, Stage, Hall and Cathedral) and adds perfect spaciousness to your sounds. Bright and Dark modes emphasize or cut the high frequencies. The new Chorale option also provides lush modulations.
