The Arturia MatrixBrute Noir is a mono/parafonic analog synthesizer with outstanding and versatile features. The French manufacturer has incorporated all its experience and the technical features of its predecessor models into the MatrixBrute Noir. For example, the MatrixBrute Noir features the famous Brute Factor as well as oscillators and filters from the MiniBrute and the MicroBrute mini synthesizer in duplicate. The striking and name-giving detail of the MatrixBrute Noir is the extensive 16x16 modulation matrix, which also contains a flexible 64-step sequencer. Two complex oscillators plus a flexible VCO/LFO enable classic synthesizer sounds and extensive audio modulations. This makes it possible to create even the most special synthesizer sounds. The 16x16 modulation matrix enables a wide variety of synthesis approaches. Cross-modulation of the oscillators, FM sounds, filter FM. For sound experiments, the MatrixBrute is an inexhaustible source of the craziest synthesizer sounds and almost as flexible as a modular synthesizer.

The stylistic device that has already made the MiniBrute famous can also be found in the MatrixBrute Noir in the form of the Brutefactor. If you increase the value of the brute factor, the filter produces a sharper sound until it sounds completely distorted in the maximum range and takes on a chaotic sound behavior. The Marixbrute combines two filter concepts for maximum sound flexibility: the Steiner-Parker filter and the classic Moog "ladder" filter. Both filters are analog and can be connected in series or parallel. Low-pass, high-pass, band-pass and, in the case of filter 1, notch, are available for individual adjustment. The third oscillator of the Arturia Matrixbrute is intended as a flexible modulation source, hence the name VCO/LFO. The audio modulation section, which controls the modulations between the oscillators in four levels, is correspondingly complex. There are also 2 LFO sections with various waveforms and 3 envelope generators with a classic ADSR structure.
