The YDP-S35 features a piano sound sampled from Yamaha's high-end CFX concert grand piano - a renowned piano that combines brilliant highs and a powerful, resonant bass in a superbly expressive sound. The YDP-S35 has the same individual sound - from the low to the high keys - full of brilliance and rich in colorful harmonic content. Authentic acoustic playability and full control with the half-pedal unit

With an 88-key piano action, the Graded Hammer Standard (GHS) keyboard mimics the touch of an acoustic piano, from a naturally heavy feel on the lower keys to a lighter touch in the upper octaves. The GHS keyboard offers the functionality and feel of a grand piano and allows for fast repetition and authentic expressive control. In addition, there is a half-position damper function that authentically reproduces the damping effect of a grand piano and thus provides a wide range of expressive variations.

Harmonic resonance like that of a grand piano - Virtual Resonance Modeling Lite (VRM LITE)

One of the fascinations of the grand piano is the distinctive resonance created by the vibration of the entire instrument. The YDP-S35 reproduces this strong resonance effect through a groundbreaking technology called Virtual Resonance Modeling Lite (VRM Lite). VRM Lite creates a varied sound by simulating the complex resonances that occur when the vibrations of the strings are transmitted to the soundboard and other strings. This happens according to the timing and intensity of playing on the keyboard and pedals.

A variety of built-in songs and intuitive operation with the Smart Pianist application

In addition to authentic grand piano sounds, the YDP-S35 also offers various other instruments with a total of 10 sounds - including electric piano, organ, vibraphone and strings. The YDP-S35 also has 353 built-in songs, including 50 famous classical ones, and 303 comprehensive exercises from famous methods such as those of Beyer, Burgmüller, Czerny and Hanon. The instrument is also compatible with Yamaha's free Smart Pianist app - simply download it to your smart device and connect it to the instrument. With the Smart Pianist app, you can easily operate the instrument's various voice functions and call up the note display of internal and external songs. It also has a comprehensive Piano Room function that allows you to adjust the sound quality and resonance settings for the piano sound to suit your needs.
