The Marantz PMD661 MKIII is a handy 2-channel solid-state audio recorder. With its uncompromising high performance combined with very robust manufacturing quality, the PMD661 MKIII offers news journalists, court and community reporters as well as security services, detectives, scientists and researchers a professional product that captures detailed images. In addition, the data is secure against unauthorized access thanks to encryption after recording. Thus, your sensitive data remains protected to the maximum. The recorder is ideal for fast and spontaneous recording situations so you don't have to carry around heavy equipment and separate microphones.
The Marantz PMD661 MKIII features a high-quality stereo condenser microphone for fast use, switchable balanced MIC/XLR line inputs, two unbalanced line outputs with cinch connectors and a second unbalanced 3.5 mm mini jack line input. The dimensions of only 165 x 93 x 36 mm paired with an easy to read 128 x 64 pixel OLED (Organic LED) display guarantee an easy operation during recording, playback or editing of the settings.
The high-resolution 24-bit / 96 kHz recording offers uncompromising quality in your recordings on SD card. Compatible with SDHC cards means you can use 32 GB of media. The additional "SD CARD Check" function makes it easy for you to check an SD card for compatibility. With 4 AA batteries or NI-Mh rechargeable batteries, you can record up to 6 hours at a time. With Drag & Drop you have the possibility to transfer your recordings via USB to your computer. There is also a "Retake" function on board, which allows you to jump through the last recordings and add a "drop-in" point for further overdub recordings at the touch of a button. Thus a re-recording over unwanted recordings is given and is therefore practical for dictations and notes.
The Marantz PMD661 MKIII is equipped with a password protection and a data encryption to protect the recordings from unwanted access. MP3 files can be converted to the MPS format - and WAV files to the WAS file format and are encrypted with it. Both file formats are then provided with a four-digit passcode, which is required to play the files.
